This year, our independent living community in Sacramento was proudly awarded ‘Best Independent Living’ by U.S. News. These awards are given based on the reviews and answers that come directly from the residents and their family members. Over 3,000 senior living communities were surveyed, where they gave feedback on all aspects of senior living, including the kindness of staff, variety of activities offered, quality of food, maintenance of facilities, and so much more!
Meeting this criteria is a huge accomplishment, and one that brings us a deep sense of pride. In light of our latest award, we want to take the opportunity to highlight our community, discuss some of our best amenities, and also touch on some feedback that our residents and their families were kind enough to share. About Regency Place
Nestled in the beautiful Elk Grove area just south of downtown Sacramento, our senior living community boasts a variety of lifestyle options to choose from. This includes assisted living, memory care, respite care, and of course, our award-winning independent living. Whatever option works best for you, know that our caring staff is there to meet your needs. Not only that, but all of our amenities are available to everyone, too! Currently, we can have up to 55 residents at any given time.

You are likely wondering what makes our independent living community so special and what prompted us to receive the aforementioned award. Other than our well trained and incredibly caring staff, we also have a number of amenities that our residents truly love.
Community and Activities
When making the move to senior living, one of the things that people look forward to the most is joining in on activities and making new friends around the community. We are proud to have a robust activity calendar with a wealth of activities that many can enjoy each and every day. From morning walks and fitness classes, to trips to local restaurants and shops, and even a variety of religious services, you’re sure to find something that fits your interests!
Creating a sense of community is also high on our priority list. We want all of our residents to feel connected and share a sense of camaraderie and belonging. That is why we schedule events such as game nights, movie nights, and even happy hour in order to bring everyone together. These types of activities foster an atmosphere of socialization and connection.
A few of the elements about our community that our residents told U.S. News that they enjoyed was that our community was very safe, felt like home, and that they found a lot of value in what we have to offer.
Food and Dining
If there is one myth that we enjoy busting around our independent living community in Sacramento, it’s the idea that that food at senior living has to be bad. This could not be further from the truth, especially here at our facility! We strive to create a menu that is not only delicious, but also highly nutritious. We want to meet any and all dietary needs, ensuring the health and well being of our residents.. Variety is the spice of life, and that certainly applies to food! From Tiki-style luas to gourmet tacos, we bring the best flavors from around the world right to our residents at Regency.
Not only that, but our caring and friendly staff want to make the most out of your dining experience as well. When giving out the award, residents listed that prompt and detailed service were two of the best points when enjoying meals from our dining room. That was something we really loved to hear!
Building and Grounds
With our proximity to Sacramento, it is pretty easy to find our location to be beautiful! Our facility is state of the art, featuring sprawling grounds, paved walkways, and flourishing gardens with native foliage. As an added bonus, we even have a gorgeous outdoor pool, perfect for taking a dip on those warm summer days or enjoying one of our water aerobics courses. Our garden and patio areas make the ideal location for sitting and relaxing, reading your favorite book, or having a nice chat with a family member or friend. Your golden years should be spent in a place that feels like a home and an oasis, all in the same package!
Management and Staff
We are all well aware of the fact that a place can look beautiful and welcoming, but without the key people in the right positions, it’s nothing more than a shiny building. Highly trained and caring staff members are who truly make up the heart of our community, and we are delighted to have such a dedicated and diligent team to steer our ship. In every department of our staff, you will find people who truly love their job and care about the safety, happiness, and well being of our residents.
While we can talk about our team until we’re blue in the face, we think the words of our residents resonate even louder. One individual gave the following comment in regard to our quality of care: “[I’ve] been here for two years and I enjoy it. Staff work hard and keep everything going well. New places should look for people like we have here.”
When receiving this award, U.S. News listed Regency as having an excellent and responsive management and staff, prompt and skilled maintenance staff, very prompt and thorough housekeeping, and even a clear and helpful billing department.
